With the Finnish football season only weeks away, the first three RIASA players since the recent buyout by Mark Ellis, RIASA Academy Director are preparing to fly to Finland in readiness for the first league game on Sunday the 8th of May.
Shane King, Ethan Krabbendam and Cedrick Fenelon will initially sign 6 month contracts with former Premier League club PS Kemi Kings.
We spoke too Shane, Ethan and Cedrick before they embarked on their next chapter in their soccer careers and asked them to speak candidly about the opportunity in front of them. Mark Ellis, also shared his thought’s on why these players were selected. Watch below!
These three individuals in particular have earned their places, not only based on their playing ability but equally importantly, they have the appropriate personal skills and behaviours to represent both themselves and the club on and off the pitch in the desired manner that RIASA adhere to.
It is hoped that two further RIASA players will also be added to the squad by the beginning of the season.
With a plan moving forward to start a reserve team for 2023, opportunities to play in Europe are now unrivalled when you join the RIASA Undergraduate College Soccer Programme.
Combined ability, desire and commitment to learn athletically and academically, the same opportunities will extend to all those male and female players graduating in the future.
Kemi also looks forward to welcoming it’s first female players to PS Kemi Queens in 2023.
