DoDea Soccer Championships In Germany Huge Success For RIASA

The RIASA team are currently traveling home from this year’s superbly hosted Dodea Soccer Championships, which took place across multiple DoDea military venues in southwest Germany.

Having spent three full days on the ground at this year’s soccer championship, it was clear from the word go that this was something special. Everybody was welcoming and was keen to find out more about who we are. On the pitch, the championships showcased incredible talent amongst all the competing teams from the different DoDea regions.

During the championships, we managed to watch numerous female fixtures, which enabled Coach Jack Salvatore the chance of seeing the raw talent on offer. We also had the chance of watching Esperanza Munoz compete for Wiesbaden High School – Esperanza has put pen to paper and will be joining RIASA women in the fall of 2024.

During the three days in Germany we watched several fixtures across divisions 1, 2 and 3 to determine the level of athleticism and technical ability within each team. On the whole we were impressed with the playing standard across all divisions and in particular some individuals showcased extreme talent for their team, helping them progress through to the final rounds.

Once we return to the UK after the championships, we will be putting together a plan which includes coming back to host a RIASA ID Camp for both male and female student-athletes who may be interested in our unique college soccer offering. If you are interested in attending this, please sign up to receive updates when we announce the date for this event.

We can’t thank the whole DoDea military community enough for their warm welcome and kind hospitality whilst we attended the championships. In particular, we would like to thank Kathlene, the DoDea Athletics Director for her support pre tournament, during the games and post tournament!

We look forward to returning and working with the Dodea community in the future.
