On his latest travels, RIASA director Mark Ellis spent time during the later winter months in the United Arab Emirates looking to promote the programme and secure an added recruitment base to source international students from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Later, in March, Mark was in Fort Lauderdale (where the next #RIASAonTheRoad event will take place), to check out the facilities and fields at the Sawgrass Grand Hotel. During this trip, he was lucky enough to bump into the Peruvian National team who were training there as they had qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 35 years!
From Fort Lauderdale, Mark travelled to Atlanta where he met up with Paul Barron, former Arsenal and QPR Goalkeeper who introduced him to Michelle Akers, one of the greatest soccer players of all time.
Finally, onto Las Vegas, where Mark visited the central university, meeting with some of their top coaches in relation to recruitment for the new female soccer programme. He also met up with one of our recently applied and accepted Masters students, who will be part of the new London programme.
So, there are lots of exciting things happening at RIASA, and as the programme continues to go from strength to strength you can be assured Mark is always seeking new ways in which to continue to grow and enrich the experience of the RIASA student-athletes.
