First Half

The windswept sleet and snowy weather conditions on Meadowheads 4g Astroturf pitch the slippy underfoot surface did not help both teams with their footing through the game started we pressed well early working hard. However, after 8 mins as we failed to react to the 2nd ball as Meadowhead went 1-0 up,  we reacted well and responded on 10 mins as Cole Heard played a through ball to Harvey Lipman who cut into the box and drove the ball onto the far post with the GK stranded. Very unlucky not to score. On 10 mins we were down 2-0 as our midfield failed to track their runner, who ran unopposed and slotted the ball into the net, though he looked offside.

Again, our reaction was good as Trent Innocenti, who was a constant threat to the opposition, on 14 mins Rafael played a through ball to Trent who was fouled on the edge of the box, (Looked inside), then 28 mins after another good run down the right by Trent as he whipped in a ball across their goal which we failed to get on the end of. The game continued to eb and flow as both teams creating chances.

On 32 mins they made it 3-0 and once again, we responded on 36 mins with our best passage of play. Cole Heard played into Harvey Lipman who played through ball to Antony Bynoe who drove in off the left-hand side striking the ball up and over the GK with a slight deflection (3-1). As we pressed for another before halftime 40 mins we were caught on the counter-attack 4-1, we immediately responded on 42 mins when Cole Heard picked up the ball 30 yds took a touch inside onto his right and drove it into the top corner to get a great goal on his birthday.


We made all 5 changes at halftime and we started much better on the front foot and were defensively sound with Trey Williams GK being praised for a very solid 2nd half performance with some reactive good shot stopping. Particularly on 59 mins with two point-blank saves one after the other.

We still created opportunities and were unfortunate not to score on 52 mins as Trent Innocenti Played a ball to Harvey Lipman who shot wide of the near post. On 58 mins, Harvey played a ball through to Trent who was brought down outside the box. As we continued to chase the game in the last 25 mins, our reaction to transition was evident and on 65 mins Meadowhead scored to make it 5-2.

Man of the Match

Trent Innocenti: A constant threat to the opposition showed good pace and deliveries into the area. Positive display.

Players to Note

Cole Heard: Good first half performance, unbelievable strike for his goal.

Harvey Lipman: Good work rate tirelessly up front, great hold up play.

Trey Williams: Showed very good shot stopping on numerous occasions as well as 2 point blank saves late in the game.
