6 Reasons to Attend the 2019 RIASA Summer Retreat

We get it.

Purchasing a spot on the 2019 RIASA Summer Retreat is a big commitment. Not only due to the cost of a ticket but if you’re traveling internationally, costs begin to add up.

But rest assured, the experience you will have here in the UK with us for a week will be priceless. Here are 6 reasons why:

  1. You will see Liverpool play live

On Sunday, July 14, Bradford City will take on Liverpool at the Valley Parade Stadium.

As our Co-Founder and Director is an ex-professional winger for Bradford City, we have an executive box at the stadium, from which we run our recruitment office. We’ve invited all of the Summer Retreat attendees to our executive box to watch the Champions League winners live.

When else could you see one of the greatest clubs in the world from an exclusive executive box?

  1. You Will Receive Expert Coaching

The value of expert coaching in soccer cannot be underestimated. Especially coaching that opens your mind to new ways of playing, thinking and training.

If you’re looking at the RIASA programme from the USA, you have probably haven’t been exposed to a European model of coaching. And we think it’s about time that you experience something new. With RIASA, you will experience intensity in training and playing that you likely have never come across before.

That intensity that you’ll experience in the several training sessions will also be expected in the 2 games that you will play whilst staying with us the UK.

Even if you do not end up joining the RIASA programme, you will return home equipped with powerful knowledge that will make you a stronger, more effective soccer player.

  1. You will learn everything you need to know about the RIASA programme

After spending a whole week with RIASA, you will understand the programme more than anyone.

Whilst the intensive soccer programme at the retreat will give you an insight into life at RIASA, you will also have the chance to learn about the academic side of the programme through campus visits, presentations and Q&A’s.

At RIASA, both the soccer and the academic elements of the programme are given equal attention and time. At the week-long Summer Retreat, you will discover the importance of the academic programme and the opportunities that it can open up for you after you graduate.

  1. You will visit the Manchester Stadium of your choice

Ever dreamed of visiting the stadium of Manchester City or Manchester City?

Well, now you have the opportunity to decide between the two! Along with your new peers on the Summer retreat, you will get to choose which of the 2 Manchester clubs’ stadium you wish to have a guided tour around.

Which will you decide on?

  1. You will live, train and learn with like-minded players

When you’ve decided on a different path to the traditional US College Soccer route, it can be hard to find soccer players with the same mindset as yourself.

On the RIASA Summer Retreat, this issue is solved.

You’ll spend a whole week training, playing and experiencing the UK culture with other budding student-athletes who have the same ambitions and preferences as you.

With that, you’ll begin the process of building lifelong friendships that will guide you through an intense schedule once you join RIASA.

  1. You will experience the true UK culture

Living in the US, it can be expensive to visit the UK on a one-off trip. Particularly if you’re looking for a truly immersive experience.

Now, you can combine your love of travel and soccer by spending an entire week learning about UK culture whilst playing the game you love.

As part of the week-long Summer Retreat, you will experience cultural tours of Yorkshire, learning about the rich history of the area and discovering why RIASA would be the perfect choice for fulfilling your love for travel.
