RIASA West
3-3
Lancaster City F.C.

First Half

A bright start for West as we set the tempo in the early stages with good possession and good passages of play, though was caught from a direct ball into opposition striker who flicked on for his teammate to run through and score on 5 mins. We reacted well and subsequently created the 2 clear opportunities as Chris Allen played a through ball to Immanuel Egbuna on 6 mins who skipped into the box only to be denied by a good save by the opposition GK.

Immediately after, the creative Chris Allen played the ball into Tristan Knudsen inside the box who failed to connect with the ball. As we persisted to pressure an equaliser came on 18 mins as a good flick-on from Christian Mckeown to Tristan Knudsen spun in the box to score with half-volley into the goal. The opposition reacted well and again on 21 mins with a very similar route one ball flicked on to regain the lead (2-1).

We continued to look very positive going forward with a good build and we were rewarded on 27 mins as Tristan Knudsen converted with a wonderful 25-yard free kick ( 2-2).  As half-time approached, we continued to create chances with good positive runs and efforts from Paul Mcfarlane, Chibuzo Nwuso and Christian Mckeown all going close before, on 43 mins, a free kick into the box form Tristan Knudsen found Christian Mckeown to Head the ball past the GK.

Second Half

Goalkeeper Duncan Curtis came on for Joe Demartino (45 mins)

Again we started well, creating opportunities. Firstly, good link-up as Carlos Rodriguez overlapped Immanuel kinuthia down the left and crossed for Tristan Knudsen to volley over the bar on 49 mins. Soon followed by a drive through past two players from Paul Mcfarlane into the box, he shot low but the GK saved (50 mins). Just 2 mins after, Chibuzo Nwuso showed good anticipation to latch onto a short pass back but shot straight at the GK.

A very experienced Lancaster team, who were dangerous from their direct positive play, equalised on 55 mins from a headed corner (3-3).  As the game went into the final 30 mins, we came on stronger and looked fitter and dominant creating chances. On 63 mins, Chibuzo had a chance inside the box, only to be denied by GK. Subs Chukwma Egbuna (67 mins) and Skyler Simmonds (73 mins) came on to freshen up the team and both fit in well showing good qualities on and off the ball.
